What is the gospel?
Life, death, burial, resurrection of Jesus. This word gospel is different from “gospels” which comprise the first four books of the New Testament.

How can we see the gospel as a guide in our everyday lives?
Examples:

  • Marriage - loving wives as Christ loved the church

  • Humility - we are all sinners. I am not morally superior to others. Only by the gospel can I see life change. I’m not righteous. Jesus is righteous.

  • Love - I’ve been loved by God despite my sin. I can love others despite how they may act.

Paul had the Roman church on his heart. How can we cultivate and develop a love for a specific person or people to whom we can minister? Examples: Workplace, children in foster system, a people group overseas, neighborhood.
