Discussion Questions:

Read Philippians 2:1-11

What do you think of when you think of humility?

What were the five divine blessings from Philippians 2:1?

How can we make sure that we root our understanding of these blessings in the giver of those blessings?

What did Paul say would bring him joy as the Philippians church responded to those divine blessings? (Unity and selflessness)

How can we better unify around Christ while accepting differences in non-gospel areas? Is that hard in our present day?

Is pride simply self-promotion? Or are their other “selfs” of pride that creep in? (Self-pity, self-focus, self exaltation)

Give examples of people who treat you as more significant than they treat themselves.

In what ways is Christ our example of humility?

Spend time praying and exalting Jesus for his humility shown toward us.
